Keys to Winning

All Children are Cutie Pies!  There are SEVERAL CATAGORIES, some have a beauty score, some don't.  Most importantly, this is a PHOTO Contest, with children as the subject. Sometimes the Child can make the photo Great! Othertimes, it is the Photographer that makes the photo Great! Sometimes it is the Enhancer that makes the photo Great! Judges are looking for that "something special" that makes your photo extra Great! It could be a look in a child's eyes, or a facial expression, a gesture,  a scene, a child doing something that makes your heart melt, use of colors, angles, a photo that captures the innocence or true essence of a child,  a feeling that the photo gives, or it could be a child is just eye-catching gorgious,....something that just makes the photo jumps out at you! Bad Scans, Background distractions, extra people sometimes detract from a Great photo.

All Photos

1.  Photos that are clear, unobstructed background, that are cropped closely work best.    **I can help with cropping** 2.  Black and White, Sepia  or Color Photos are great ! 3.  Enhancements in Glitz only (though red eye removal and LIGHT skin smoothing is OK.. (If your photo        needs this, you can add $1.50 to the fee and I'll do it for you.)     **If I get enough requests to enter OTHER types of enhancements such as "characater, background, theme, or color           accents etc. I will open a  new category for "creative enhanements"..*** 4. Holding props are fine, but make sure they don't cover the child's face too much 5. Only light, or no make up on child for Girls Natural contest.    (If I get enough requests for make up on snapshot photos, I will open a new     "girl's model category") 6. Digital photos tend to to better than scanned film photography because quality tends 2 be better so, score is higher

Girls/Boys

Snapshots (color or BW) Pro Shots, & Personality Shots are all welecomed as long as you can see the child's face Light retouches are OK, Cutie Pie Photos will lightly retouch/fix photo free before posting. NO GLITZ or Color Accents. 1. Make sure that most, or all of the face can be seen                        2. Close up cropped head shots or body shots work best. 3. Make sure photo is fairly clear and free of background distractions 4. Child does not have to be smiling to look adorable! 5. Wrinkly red newborns can be just as adorable as plump older babies!     All babies 0-18 YEARS  may enter. (if we get enough entries, I'll divide into age groups) 6. No visible private parts, bottoms OK. 7. Headshots, Sitting, Laying Down, Standing are fine. 9. Posed or Natural Snapshots can win!  Black/White or Color is OK 10. Judging is based upon: Overall Impression of Photo  (Quality is a factor) Facial Beauty Charm of child

Composites

1. Comps that you have done Yourself, Professional Comps, or Gltzy comps are all welcome in this contest! 2. Judging is based upon Overall Impression of comp card,  and Modeling Potential of the Child.     Artistic Composition/Creativity is taken into account in "Overall Impression Score. 4.  Modeling Potential is based upon Charm and Personality, Facial Beauty, OR ability to pose to show off clothes or products.

Creative Snapshots

**This could be a particular pose the child is engaged in, or a particular angle of the camera view, or just something really cute, interesting, or funny the child is doing.  It may have other people in it such as friends or family, pets also!** Judging based on: 1.  Overall Impression of photo 2.  Creative or artistic expression of photographer of child 3.  Charm of entire photo, not necessarily just the child 3.  Child's face does not have to be showing 4   Professional Photographer Shots should go in PRO SHOTS category, not this one!

Black and White

*This category is for the combo of "Creative &  black and white"  not for Black and white normal headshots-that's Natural Judging based on: 1. Overall Impression 2. Charm and captivity of entire photo 3.  How Appropriate the Useage of Black and White is to capture a moment in time

Glitz

**Glitzy GIRLS and GUYS and Color Enhancements (including black and white with color) photo can be Black and White or Color or BOTH!!** Judging based on: 1. Overall Impression 2. Artistic Quality 3. Facial Beauty 4. Charm and captivity of entire photo

Judging is NOT done by anyone in online contest world. It is being judged by 1  professional photographers, and 1 pageant director & 1 lay person.  (all perspectives of judging)
